Frequently Asked Questions

Here at AE, we understand that the remodeling process can be a daunting task. We try our best to make it as seamless as we can. Here are some of the most asked questions. Hopefully this can shed some light to some your concerns.

How cost does it cost to remodel my kitchen, bathroom, home, etc.?

Each project request and scope varies so it is honestly really hard to say without looking at what we are dealing with. We try to make the estimate process as easy and painless as possible. The next section will go more into detail of how we conduct estimates.

How are estimates conducted?

We can conduct an estimate in 2 ways:

  1. In-home estimate. This is complimentary. We would send someone from AE to look at the project site and go over everything the client wants to do.

  2. Photos/Videos. Alternatively, the client can send us photos with descriptions of what they want done or a video walk-through on the project. We need to have a clear understanding and visual of the project site so take as many pictures as needed. We will also give them a call to confirm everything that will be done. This is often the fastest way to get an estimate. All the media content can be sent to

    • If the client has a plan and wants to get a bid, they can also email it over to and we will have someone go over it, then provide a rough estimate on just the labor.

Do I need a permit for my remodel?

No, that completely up to the client. If the client wishes for us to take care of everything(permit, inspections, fixes, paperwork, scheduling, etc.), we can do. Additional charges would apply.

Do you subcontract out?

No, everybody is inhouse. They have been with the company since it was formed back in 2011.

“Oh, you guy’s have a showroom?”

Yes, we do! We hear this a lot. It is located in South San Jose at 5489 Snell Ave, Suite 30, San Jose, CA 95123. The nearest freeway exit is 85 and Blossom Hill Rd.

What if I just want labor?

That’s fine. Let us know a head of time because we often include materials and labor into our estimates.

Can I just purchase the materials?

Of course. If the client doesn’t like the materials within our showroom, they can always purchase their own and we can supply the labor for it.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check, or Credit Card. MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay.

How are payments made?

It depends on the size of the project and duration. Typically it is an initial deposit and a few installments whenever a phase of the project is done.

Do I need to be around?

No, unless the client wants to be. Typically the client will give us the key(we will provide a lock-box) or the access code into the home.

Do I need to move out?

No. Depending on the project scale, it would be faster if the no one was occupying the space so we would be able to work on all of it at one instead of in phases. This would cut down the expected deadline.

How long will the remodel take?

Depends on what needs to be done but a typical bathroom or kitchen remodel would take about 1.5-2 weeks.
